Privacy Policy

LinkGuard checks links on your device. This page explains what it processes, what it sends, and what it stores.

Effective date: 2026-10-15

What is processed on your device

What is sent off your device

The only outgoing request is a domain registration lookup (RDAP), used to get a domain's registration date and registrar.

What is stored

The items below are kept only in the browser's chrome.storage.local and are not sent to the developer's servers.

Per-tab counts shown in the popup are held briefly in session storage (chrome.storage.session) and disappear when the browser session ends.

Uninstalling the extension deletes the stored data.

What it does not do

Check on all sites

Off by default. Only if you turn it on in the popup and allow the browser's permission request, LinkGuard checks links on all sites in the same way, on your device. You can turn it off at any time.

Changes to this policy

If this page changes, the effective date is updated.
