Using it on other sites
By default LinkGuard runs only on the supported webmail and messenger pages. To use it elsewhere, turn on "Check on all sites" yourself.
How to turn it on
- Select the LinkGuard icon in the toolbar to open the popup.
- Turn on the "Check on all sites" switch.
- When the browser asks for permission, read it and allow.

The permission prompt
The browser asks for permission to read and change data on all websites. The exact wording differs by browser.
LinkGuard wants to access data on all sites
Sample wording. The real text depends on your browser.
Don't allowAllow
To compare links, LinkGuard has to read the link addresses and text on the page, which is why it needs this permission. What it reads is compared on your device and is not sent out. The one outgoing request is described in the FAQ.
If you do not allow it
If you decline, the switch stays off and LinkGuard keeps working only on the supported webmail and messengers.
How to turn it off
- Turn off the "Check on all sites" switch in the popup.
- To turn it off for one site only, open the popup on that site and turn off "Check on this site".
